Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the top professional football (soccer) league in France. It is one of the major European football leagues, featuring clubs from across the country. Established in 1933, Ligue 1 operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2, the second tier of French football. The league format includes a set number of teams competing in a round-robin format, where each team plays every other team twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion.
